The launch event was held this morning at The Green Lemon in Malaga TechPark, with the participation of María Jesús Vera Carrillo, Provincial Secretary-General of the Territorial Delegation for Educational Development, Vocational Training, University, Research and Innovation in Malaga, under the Regional Ministry of University, Research and Innovation of the Regional Government of Andalusia; Alicia Izquierdo García, Councillor for Innovation, Urban Digitalisation, Promotion of Technological and Business Investment, and Investment Attraction at Malaga City Council; Juan Carlos Rubio Romero, Vice-Rector for Students, Employability and Entrepreneurship at the University of Malaga; Felipe Romera Lubias, Director of Malaga TechPark; and Álvaro Simón de Blas, Director General of BIC Euronova, the European Business and Innovation Centre of Malaga.
Promoted by BIC Euronova, the European Business and Innovation Centre of Malaga, Malaga Startup Network brings together a range of public and private organisations, including incubators, accelerators, institutions and government bodies, all committed to the growth and success of Malaga startups. Its members include BIC Euronova, the Junta de Andalucía, Andalucía Emprende, Malaga City Council, Promálaga, Malaga TechPark, the University of Malaga, Fundación Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (CTA), Innova IRV (Instituto Ricardo Valle de Innovación), Polo Nacional de Contenidos Digitales, Fundalogy, Impact Hub, Málaga Tech and Santander Startups, among other organisations.
Malaga Startup Network was created in response to growing demand for support for entrepreneurs and startups, offering a strong ecosystem designed to facilitate access to resources, mentoring, collaboration, support in seeking finance, networking opportunities and internationalisation.
‘We are very motivated to launch Malaga Startup Network and to work together to build a vibrant and dynamic ecosystem for entrepreneurs and startups in Malaga,’ said Carlos García Giménez, President of BIC Euronova and Territorial Delegate for Economy, Finance, European Funds, and Industry, Energy and Mines of the Junta de Andalucía in Malaga.
Malaga Startup Network was founded to foster an entrepreneurial culture across the province of Malaga, encouraging individuals and teams to develop their innovative ideas and turn them into viable businesses. It will provide entrepreneurs with the tools and resources they need to develop and scale their businesses, including coworking spaces, specialised training and access to advanced technology. It will also support startups in their search for funding, connecting them with investors, venture capital funds and other sources of finance.
In addition, Malaga Startup Network will promote internationalisation by helping startups expand into international markets and providing them with the guidance and contacts they need to take their products and services beyond local borders.
It will also encourage collaboration by creating an environment for exchange among the organisations that make up the network, facilitating synergies and knowledge transfer. Malaga Startup Network also invites all organisations interested in entrepreneurship and innovation to join the initiative and contribute to building a prosperous future for the province.
