Eventwall project wins the CiberEmprende programme promoted by BIC Euronova in collaboration with INCIBE

BIC Euronova, the European Business and Innovation Centre of Malaga, has successfully accelerated 17 entrepreneurial projects as part of the CIBEREMPRENDE programme.

As a result of this edition, BIC Euronova awarded a total of €5,000 in financial prizes to the three most outstanding projects: €3,000 for the first prize awarded to Eventwall, €1,500 for the second prize awarded to Seritra, and €500 for the third prize awarded to the Safe project.

In addition to being eligible for financial awards, the 17 participating entrepreneurs took part in the incubation programme at BIC Euronova, which included a structured training and mentoring plan.

BIC Euronova, in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE), an entity under the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service through the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, has successfully concluded this new edition of the CiberEmprende programme. The initiative aimed to boost innovation and digital security by fostering the creation of new companies.

The winning project, Eventwall, is a local events platform that connects groups with shared interests. The second-place project, Seritra, is a medical device capable of converting any type A and B blood into universal type O blood. The third awarded project, Safe, is a cybersecurity-themed video game aimed at children aged 10 to 12, designed for use in educational centres.

The incubation, training and mentoring programme began at the end of October and ran for five weeks, with two sessions per week. In addition, participating projects benefited from individual consultancy hours covering legal matters as well as tax, labour and accounting advisory services, alongside guidance from an expert mentor.

All participating business ideas were required to include a digital component, with cybersecurity playing a relevant role, either as a core element of the product or service, or as a key requirement of their business activity—such as online sales—where cybersecurity is essential to ensure secure digital environments for customers.

These projects will also have the opportunity to benefit from future calls under the acceleration programme, provided that the business idea is developed through the formal incorporation of a company.

For its part, INCIBE works tirelessly to strengthen digital trust in Spain, raise cybersecurity and resilience standards, and contribute to the digital market. Its objective is to promote the safe use of cyberspace by encouraging secure practices and raising awareness across society about the importance of cybersecurity.

As a collaborating entity within the programme, BIC Euronova will offer acceleration programmes, talks, workshops, events and incubation services to participants. This joint effort has enabled entrepreneurs to acquire a solid foundation in cybersecurity, which is essential for operating securely in today’s digital environment. Notably, Spain ranks as the third country worldwide in terms of cyber-threat detections, accounting for 6%, close to figures reported in Japan and Poland.

INCIBE Emprende

INCIBE’s initiatives to promote entrepreneurship in cybersecurity are aimed at entrepreneurs and start-ups with innovative cybersecurity ideas and projects at various stages, including idea generation, incubation, acceleration and express acceleration. All these initiatives form part of the National Cybersecurity Industry Promotion Programme, which focuses on a key strategic objective: strengthening the national cybersecurity industry to support the emergence, growth and development of companies in this sector.

This programme is implemented under the INCIBE Emprende framework and is included in Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), specifically under Component 15, Investment 7: Cybersecurity – Strengthening the capabilities of citizens, SMEs and professionals, and boosting the sector.

These initiatives are carried out within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan funds, financed by the European Union (Next Generation EU). This Government of Spain initiative sets out the roadmap for the modernisation of the Spanish economy, economic recovery and job creation, aiming to build a strong, inclusive and resilient recovery following the COVID-19 crisis and to address the challenges of the coming decade.
