The President of EBN takes part in the European Conference ECO-INNOVATION Empowering Entrepreneurship
The President of the European BIC Network (EBN), Álvaro Simón, who is also the chairman of BIC Euronova (BIC of Malaga), took part in the European Conference for eco-innovation policies, ECO-INNOVATION Empowering Entrepreneurship, which was held in Brussels last 11th of December.

The President of the European BIC Network (EBN), Álvaro Simón, who is also the chairman of BIC Euronova (BIC of Malaga), took part in the European Conference for eco-innovation policies, ECO-INNOVATION Empowering Entrepreneurship, which was held in Brussels last 11th of December.
There were more than 200 attendees. This event has offered a unique opportunity to discuss the role of the eco-innovation policies, the European competitiveness, creation of employment as well as the environmental protection and the wellness of the European citizens.
According to the European Commission, the 2020 strategy which consists in increasing the efficiency of resources is the key to assure growth and employment in Europe. Because of that, in this conference it was thought that eco-innovation is the best way to achieve this goal and that is why they dealt with environmental issues, the increase of productivity and creation of new markets.
The President of EBN, Álvaro Simón, welcomed the attendees and presented the conference. Then, the conference focused on specific examples of eco-technologies, services and projects. Three eco-innovation projects were presented: RESCÁTAME, Ecolink+e and InnomatNet. Likewise, during the work sessions, particular attention was paid to the role of entrepreneurship and incubators as engine for economic growth.
In addition to offer an excellent opportunity to the creation of networks, this conference, organised by the EBN (European Business and Innovation Centre Network) with the collaboration of the European Commissioner for Environment, has been a showcase of the latest European policies and initiatives where the foundations for future opportunities have been laid.
