The Venta del Túnel benefits from a pioneering electrical self-consumption installation.

ATyges, which is an innovative company of BIC Euronova (BIC of Malaga), has put into service a pioneering 10 kw electrical installation of photovoltaic technology in Andalusia.

The Royal Decree 1699/2011 was enacted on November 18th 2011, under which the connection to the network of low-electric power generating installations is regulated. However, nobody in the central area of Andalusia legalised any electric installation of photovoltaic technology in order to supply self-consumption. Because of that, ATyges Ingeniería, with the support of their clients, has started a new business line. Its aim is to provide the buildings with electric power self-production in compliance with needs.

According to Ramón Martínez, manager of ATyges, with this idea the energetic problem would be mostly reduced and they are certain of what we should do is to reduce our needs making more efficient but not less comfortable installations and, above all, we should produce energy in a distributed manner. In this way, we'll save money on distribution and transport costs and contribute to create a more efficient system.

That is why the technical team of ATyges is proud to have been able to finish the great deal of procedures to put into service this innovative installation under regulations. After testing it, they have corroborated that its output is higher than the established in the inversion economic and financial plan.

Ramón Martínez points out that if we consume energy during the daylight hours and we have a place where we can install it, there is no excuse nowadays to put into service a self-consumption electric installation of photovoltaic technology, since the overall costs of implementation have been considerably reduced over the last year. He highlights that depending on the electricity rates of each one, the investment returns fluctuates between 5 and 7 years.

Álvaro Simón, chairman of BIC Euronova (BIC of Malaga) thinks that this electrical self-consumption installation put into service by one company of the centre, ATyges, is an important example which reveals that the companies of BIC Euronova are pioneer in the development of innovative projects.
