POWER2INNO partners visit Málaga

With this trip to Malaga it is closed the cycle of visits that the three project partners, Slovenia, Italy and Spain have made to the various regions involved in the implementation of the European project POWER2INNO, funded by the HORIZON 2020 program. They have had the opportunity to see first-hand the local reality and some of the best practices implemented.

With this trip to Malaga it is closed the cycle of visits that the three project partners, Slovenia, Italy and Spain have made to the various regions involved in the implementation of the European project POWER2INNO, funded by the HORIZON 2020 program. They have had the opportunity to see first-hand the local reality and some of the best practices implemented.

The project aims to raise their competences for empowerment of small and micro companies for innovative entrepreneurship. For this reason, the partners RDA Green Karst (lead partner) from Slovenia, and Tecnopolis Parco Scientifico e Tecnologico from Italy, during their stay in Malaga were visiting the best practices selected by the local partner BIC Euronova, within the program of experience exchanges.

First they went to Andalusia LAB facilities in Marbella, Tourism Innovation Center, where its Manager, Mr. José Luis Cordoba, was explaining the activities carried out there based mainly on knowledge transfer. Then they visited the center: the Demolab space, the Coworking area and the audiovisual production one.

They then traveled to Álora to know Los Conejitos Restaurant experience, as recipients of the Innovation Voucher from the Innovation and Development Agency of Andalusia. There they met the Agency Manager, Mr. José Aguilar and Mr. Rafael Tirado, Promotion Executive Advisor, which gave a detailed explanation of the characteristics of this financing instrument, the Innovation Voucher. Afterwards, the General Manager of BIC Euronova, Mr. Alvaro Simon, also joined the meeting. Later, after meeting two of the promoters of the restaurant, they went to visit the facilities to see the investments executed. Finally, they were able to taste the specialties of the area at the restaurant.

To end the first day of meetings, D. Jesus Guerrero, promoter of the company Micro-investors showed their Crowdfunding platform, making a detailed presentation of this new financial instrument in our country, and his experience with different projects.
The next day, they began with a visit to Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol, Malaga Provincial Council, where Mr. José Manuel García, the Head of Department of Economic Development, exposed its program about Málaga Business Angels Network, from its launch until today, explaining the procedure followed for admission of projects, what is their role as intermediaries, etc.

After finishing the meeting, the partners moved to BIC Euronova facilities in the Technological Park of Andalusia, where, after visiting the incubator, could continue planning project activities to completion in February 2017.
The visit of the European partners ended with a trip to Caminito del Rey as an example of good practice in tourism in Malaga, being fascinated with the visit.

The good practices identified will be analysed and partners’ competences will be explored, basing new knowledge on their strengths, but also finding their weaknesses and trying to address them. Upon this approach, pilot programmes will be designed and tested in each partner’s region. Further, a Design Options Paper will be developed at the end of the project, offering the possibility to transfer new knowledge also to other innovation support organisation that might be interested in it.

The project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no 699638. The project’s ending is foreseen in February 2017.
