Social innovation of the European SMEs with the Project SOCIAL CHALLENGES

El objetivo del este Proyecto es explotar el potencial de innovación social de las PYMEs europeas, que aún no se ha aprovechado, para abordar los complejos retos sociales a nivel micro y macro que afectan a los ciudadanos europeos.

SOCIALCHALLENGES.EU is the Project headed by the consortium conformed by the entities Impact Hub, EBN and META, financed by the frame of the H2020 investigation and innovation of the European Union programme. It is supported by 20 strategic hubs distributed all around Europe, which are responsible of the realization of the activities in its respective areas.

In Spain, the chosen strategic hubs have been ANCES (National Asociation of BICs) by EBN (European network of BICs), and Impact Hub Madrid, by Impact Hub.

The purpose of this Project is to explote the social innovation potential of the European SMEs that are not still untapped in order to approach the difficult social challenges at micro and macro level which affect to the European citizens.

An entity (public or private, for-or-not-for-profit) may issue a challenge and participate in a collaborative way with one or some startups in the solution to such challenge.

A startup may be implicated in the solution to a social problem along with the entity that issues the challenge, obtain finance in order to develop it and to post the solution in the market.

Through the platform http://socialchallenges.eu/ the supply and demand of innovative solutions will be able to find each other in an online ecosystem that promotes the collaboration between social innovators and SMEs for the definition of viable innovations with a clear social impact.
