IBM Spain attends the first breakfast of the New Year in the Euronova Club

Este primer desayuno del año tuvo lugar el pasado 2 de febrero en el Hotel Posadas de España, en el Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía, y contó con casi una veintena de empresas miembros, que aprovecharon la ocasión para ponerse al día y plantear nuevas actividades y acciones para 2018.

The Euronova Club got back in the lane of the traditional monthly breakfast after the celebrating meeting that its members held last January to toast to the New Year.

This first breakfast of the year took place the last 2nd February in the Posadas de España hotel, in the Technological Park of Andalusia, and almost twenty member companies attended the event. They also seized the opportunity to keep up to date and to propose new actions and activities for 2018.

On this occasion, the Euronova Club had an exceptional gest: Elisa Martín Garijo, Director of Technology and Innovation of IBM Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel.

Elisa Martín’s main objective is to stimulate the adoption of smart solutions in the companies and Spanish institutions which apply the technology and innovation as a driving force for competitiveness. Usually, they do it providing value through the connexion between the clients and IBM Research. 

During her intervention in the breakfast of the Euronova Club, Elisa Martín discussed about Cognitive Computing, a paradigm that goes beyond the traditional concept of Cognitive Intelligence. In addition, she made a review of some of the projects related to smart cities in Madrid, Malaga, the metropolitan area of Barcelona and in the University of Cantabria, to whom she had been connected in the recent years.
